Jenna Larke is a community midwife based in South Oxfordshire. Jenna took to midwifery as a second career, and after completing her midwifery training at Oxford Brookes University in 2017, she worked on the Delivery Suite at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital where her main focus was supporting women to have positive birthing experiences. Jenna has since moved out to community midwifery where she delivers continuity of care to women from a freestanding midwife-led birth centre. With a particular interest in maternal mental health, Jenna’s masters research dissertation evaluated the effect of an antenatal mindfulness course on birthing experiences. Having received further training in this vital area of maternity care, Jenna became her team’s Mental Health Champion midwife in 2018. Jenna is currently on maternity leave after the birth of her first son, but is looking forward to returning to midwifery in the near future.
